Dear Jim,
It was just a few months over two years ago that I wrote you with our plans for the Flanders Nature Center Sugar House. Enclosed is a picture from the Waterbury Republican, our local paper, taken during our dedication ceremony.
In my first letter, I wrote, ” As you can see, it is a bit more than just a barn, so we are counting on your help and expertise.” Well, we got that and more from you, Adrian Brian, and the rest of your crew to whom we at Flanders extend our deepest thanks.
Put this newspaper page on your wall with pride and send anybody by to take a look.
Sincerely,
Bill
Woodbury, CT ’02Dear Jim,
Vermont Frames gets an A+. Everyone that we dealt with from VF was awesome. It is Friday Night now, around 9:00 PM.
I can’t emphasize enough how great Brian and Matt were. I have run a backhoe for approximately 20 years, and I realize the concentration it takes day in and day out to make the job smooth and have no one get hurt. Brian exemplified that work ethic the entire time. He was very focused and diligent in all of his aspects of work. Brian had a lot of timber framing knowledge and was quick each day to jump off the crane and do what needed to be done to complete the job in a timely fashion.
I am at a loss for words to describe Matt. I have seen a lot of hand workers in my day, and I think Matt takes first prize. Matt was the closest human I have met to be described as a M A C H I N E. He would never come up for a breath of air. His timber framing knowledge was awesome as well. Matt was 100% all business. Devastating Worker.
Brian and Matt were on the job site at 7:00 AM sharp Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. We all worked till 7:00 PM on Wednesday and Thursday. Your guys beat me up.
I think VF will do well to keep Brian and Matt. They are a great team and work very well together. Take good care of Brian and Matt. They are an important part of VF’s success.
Thank you, Everyone, again.
Sincerely,
Brian and Heidi
2003Hi Jim and Mark,
I first off wanted to say how thankful I am for the time and effort you guys have invested in my project. This truly has been one of the most amazing experiences of my life!
Your crew exceeded ABOVE AND BEYOND my biggest expectations. They really were the talk of the town. Having worked through a Nor’easter and then to have a blizzard blow through and knock the power out of the town while dealing with the cold weather, was unbelievable to see how much work was being done each day! Not only was the quality and work ethic outstanding, but going the extra mile helping me out when my shipment from Vancouver with all of my belongings arrived and cutting down trees after the snowstorm struck the cottages. Truly amazing!
I really enjoyed getting to know all 6 of your guys! Everyone really put me at ease and made me feel comfortable and capable during the stressful decisions I was making along the way with the other aspects of my project. Getting involved with certain aspects of the sips by nailing a couple nails in and really understanding how everything was getting put together was incredible. Such an amazing experience! They really are a full service package! Aidy, Tommy, Brian, Brian, Cory, and Ben, you guys are rockstars! The start of my new home is more beautiful than I could have ever imagined! I can’t wait to show it off when it’s finished, and you guys always have a place in Blue Hill!
Warmest regards,
Christie
Blue Hill, ME ’14Hi Jim,
I’m sure that by the time you get this, you will have had a great Thanksgiving and spent quality time with your family.
We just wanted to let you know that your crew was fabulous and that watching the installation of the timbers was one of the highlights of the year and, only to be topped by watching the SIPs go up.
It wasn’t an hour after the crew left for their holiday that someone stopped and said they were thinking about having Vermont Frames put up their next house. We invited them to look at what was up so far, and he (like we) is totally impressed. Sue asked the crew for one of those roadside signs to have up so people will know who had done such an impressive job. When we have our open house, everyone will be told who deserves the credit. We’ll also let you all know when the open house is so you can attend if your schedule permits.
Don’t hesitate to let people know that they can drop in to see the progress and (even after the job has been completed) drop in to see the workmanship.
We are thrilled and looking forward to completing the process with your crew.
Best regards,
Bob and Sue

Etna, VT ’23Jim,
Thank you for the home-grown maple syrup. This, like our new carport, will be much enjoyed! This has been a wonderful experience from day one…right up to today when Renee and I could stand back to really appreciate our timber framed carport. It is truly lovely. We very much enjoyed watching the team from Vermont Frames building the bents and putting it all together with beams and rafters. They worked well together and treated our frame like a piece of (very large) fine furniture. Their attention to detail and to exactitude created great confidence in their skill and the frame itself. Renee and I took many pictures, which we will try to share with you soon.
Again, from the both of us, Thanks!
Doug and Renee
East Montpelier, VT ’20I would like to compliment both your timber framers and SIP installers for their excellent work. Both crews, led by Tom, performed very, very well. Brian, the crane operator, Ben, the person on the roof, another Brian, Josh, Andy, and Corey were very, very helpful and courteous. Jake from the first crew was also very, very helpful. So far, I really enjoyed talking to your crew and getting valuable tips on how to finish the masterpiece that they have created on our lot here in Toms River. I was a nervous wreck daily, but Tom always had the right words to calm me down, and he also explained the process.
I really enjoyed the details that your crew made. Andy was very nice in going around the lot to make sure it was safe, and all debris and leftover junk was put away safely. I’ve never worked with a construction crew such as yours that was so fantastic and cooperative. They were also meticulous and helpful. It was also very nice to see the workers arrive early in the morning to get a fast start on the task at hand for the day. Again, I am very impressed by the work ethic and the craftsmanship of your crews. Even the truck driver who delivered the three loads of the product was very nice and courteous.
It has been a very difficult time to get this project finally underway. With the help of your crews, our dream of building our masterpiece timber frame house from your company is getting near completion. I only hope that the weather can cooperate so that the project can be completed before your crew leaves for the holidays.

November 24, 2014Here are some pictures from the Ipswich project. Feel free to use as you see fit. The sepia colored photo is going to be printed and framed and then hung in the barn… “Dedicated to the men that built this barn Oct 24th to Oct 27th, 2005”
This will stay in the barn for the life of the structure. A cool tribute to hard work, dedication, and artesian craftsmanship… oh yeah, and a little cash!
I also wanted to send you a note to thank you and the whole team for the great experience it has been to work with you, Brian, Brian, and Kevin. You are all dedicated professionals who are obviously passionate about your careers. It has been a lot of fun working with all of you, and I would not hesitate to do it all over again. The precision workmanship and quality that Brian and Brian showed during the install was nothing short of spectacular. Those two guys worked tirelessly and flawlessly, all with good humor. Their knowledge of wood, the frame, and not to mention the precision crane work was unrivaled. They made everything look easy. That barn frame went together like it was machined out of steel, VERY IMPRESSIVE! They even put up with my silly questions and poorly driven pegs. I’m a rookie at this peg driving stuff… Everyone that has stopped by to look at the barn has been blown away by the structure. This indeed is a very impressive barn and a one of a kind in my neck of the woods. Please forward my personal thanks to the guys for me, and I look forward to the next project, hopefully a lakeside retreat in Maine. I will have the time-lapse video for you next week. Hopefully, you will be able to use it on your website.
