Timber Frame Shop
The people who prepare your timber frame.
Ron Bovat
Outdoorsman Ron came to Vermont Frames because of his friendship with the prior owner and the proximity to his home. His favorite part of the Timber Framing Process is seeing the hard-earned final product. He brings a range of previous experience from carpentry to mechanical expertise. He tries to stay outdoors as much as possible, loving hunting and snowboarding.

Roger Brace
Roger, born and raised in Vermont, had been with Vermont Frames since 1994. He not only hand cuts the timbers, but he also travels to job sites to erect the frame. Roger built his timber frame and SIPs home. He enjoys meeting and speaking with our clients on the job site. When off the job site Rogers’s interests range from painting cars and motorbiking to golfing.

Jake Cota
Jake worked at Vermont Frames from 1988 to 1994. He took a leave to try other construction methods but returned in 2011. He lives in his grandparents’ hand-hewn timber frame home that was built in 1850. His grandparents used to farm on the same land our shop is located.

Andrew Decresenzo

Sarah Grennon
Born and raised in Vermont, Sarah started work at Vermont Frames in 2021. Deciding on a career change and loving to work with her hands, she chose to try carpentry and has excelled ever since. She enjoys the different frames they build and learning something new every day. “There is always something cool to work on.”

Andrew Kidder
Andrew Kidder worked in the stick framing industry before working at Vermont Frames. His favorite part of being here is the contrast between the two. The scale, the beauty, and the specialty that a timber frame brings to a project make him love it. He also appreciates the comradery between himself and his peers. He spends time golfing, skiing, mountain biking, or with his children when not working.

Mark Knowles
Mark joined Vermont Frames as a timber framer in 1999 after seeing an ad in the paper during a visit to Vermont. Previously he did timber framing in Pennsylvania, where he grew up. He enjoys living in rural Vermont and working close to home. “What I really enjoy are the different challenges we face with each new frame. Getting to use my mind every day to work through the intricacies of the complex joinery we cut is really fun.” Mark can be found mountain biking or skiing when outside the wood shop.
Panel Shop
The panel shop team manufacture the SIPs for your project.
Corey Oliver
A Vermont native, Corey started in early 2023 at Foam Laminates of Vermont. Looking for a job closer to home, he saw the sign-out front and decided to stop in. The most enjoyable part about working at Foam Laminates of Vermont is seeing a house come out of boards and foam. He also enjoys working with his peers. Outside of work, Corey enjoys biking with his son.

Nick Preston

Josh Rochon
Born and raised locally, Josh came to Foam Laminates of Vermont in 2011, having previously worked installing panels on job sites. “I like staying busy and seeing the projects from start to finish and the comradery with the rest of the panel shop.” Josh enjoys spending his time Hunting, Fishing, and with his family.

Craig Sheppard
Born and raised right down the road, Craig joined our team in 2011. After working various jobs installing standing seam and other types of roofs, he decided to try his hand at structural insulated panels. “I enjoy seeing the puzzles come together from blueprint to panel to install.” After work, Craig hunts and fishes.
Field Install Team
The install team are the experts that will assemble your timber frame and wrap them with SIPs. They're fast and efficient, jovial and courteous.
Brendan Fossi
Brendan Fossi had just moved to Vermont in 2020 when he saw the Vermont Frames sign and decided to apply. Before his move, he worked for his father, a general contractor. His favorite part since has been the efficiency of the installation team and how fast himself and his peers can construct such impressive frames. He grows food for and with his family and skateboards in his off time.

Zeke Horton
Zeke is originally from Long Island but most recently came to us from Plattsburgh. He has a long professional history of woodworking, namely crafting furniture. In his free time, he enjoys playing drums and violin, as well as mountain biking and gardening.

Cam Sgambati
Joined in 2023, Cam has come to Vermont Frames with experience in wooden frame tent carpentry and woodshop classes. He is here because he was looking for a fun summer job and thought Vermont Frames was just that. Cam enjoys the company and peers but mostly enjoys operating heavy machinery. When he’s not at Vermont Frames, he practices his hobbies, skiing, and furniture building.

Adrien (Adie) Thibault
Born and raised in Vermont, Adie began timber framing in 1988. In addition to being a highly skilled craftsman, Adie can perform many construction tasks with accuracy and speed. Adie is typically the first to arrive at work and the last to leave and seems never to stop working. If he isn’t on the top of your frame setting rafters 30 feet in the air, Adie can be found in the top of a tree stand.

Brian (Newt) Zeno
Born and raised just down the road from our shop, Brian has been with Vermont Frames since 1995. As the crane operator, he has raised over 1000 timber frames in varying weather and job site conditions, up and down the Eastern Seacoast. Brian is skilled, gentle, and precise when he operates the crane.
Design & Operations Team
This is the team you'll communicate with primarily.
David Demeritt
Vermont Frames presented an opportunity for David to further align his career with his professional interests. He joined the team in early 2024 with a background in Architecture and Graphic Design. Before that, David ran his own landscape construction business in New Hampshire, building stone walls and outdoor living spaces for his clients. When he’s not working, David enjoys kayaking, relaxing with his wife, and playing video games with his kids.

Lindsay Hildebrand
Like most Vermont Frames employees, Lindsay was born and raised in Vermont. After 15 years working at a financial firm out of Boston, she’s back home and “enjoying learning about the timber framing and panel industry.” When not working on bookkeeping at the office, she loves spending time with her two young kids, husband, and family that live close by.

Rye Matthews
After attending the University of Vermont for eco-design and green building, Rye worked in the residential construction field for eight years. He moved to the US after meeting his wife skiing in Austria (Apres ski in a bar at the bottom of the hill). After spending the last 3 years in the world of medical device sales all over the US he eventually found a way to bridge his skills and passion at Vermont Frames. In his free time he loves to be outside with his wife, son and dog.

Kevin Moyer
Kevin grew up in New Hampshire and Massachusetts and has had a lifelong passion for timber framing. Before purchasing Vermont Frames and Foam Laminates of Vermont, he served six years in the Marines with tours in Afghanistan and the Western Pacific. “I’m humbled and proud every day to be part of this incredible team of craftsmen. The dedication and skill they bring to every project is truly inspiring.” Kevin spends his spare time sailing.

Ted Say
With a foundation in architecture, drafting, and a long career in the building industry, Ted joined Vermont Frames to work with traditional timber framing and carry those methods into modern construction. His work focuses on preserving the integrity of traditional timber framing methods while adapting them to contemporary design and fabrication needs. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, biking, golf, and hockey.

John Shafer
While attending college at UVM, John caught the timber framing bug working for a company that repaired and re-erected historic timber frame buildings. After school, and inspired by his experience, he started his own log and timber home design/build company that successfully ran for 20+ years with an emphasis on sustainable and energy efficient building practices. With decades of experience in the field, he’s now focused on sales and operations. John appreciates the traditional craft of timber framing blended with the benefit of modern enclosure systems.
When he’s not thinking about wood, he enjoys skiing, boating and fishing with his family.
